Give Animals A Voice

  End Animal Cruelty

I believe that animal cruelty must be stopped, if you see something you should report it.

There are many different types of animal cruelty.  According to the ASPCA these include:
  •  puppy mills
  • animal hoarding
  • dog fighting
  • neglect
  • equine cruelty
  • farm animal cruelty
Animal cruelty can be deliberate abuse of failing to take care of an animal and provide the animal with proper food, water, love, and shelter.  According to the Humane Society Animals who die of neglect suffer just as much as those who are purposefully harmed.  All 50 states have laws against animal cruelty, and 47 states treat cruelty as a felony. In 2007, according to the Humane Society, the media reported that 64.5% of animal abuse cases involved dogs, 18% involved cats, and 25% involved other animals. But according to the NDAA animal cruelty cases are hard to argue in court because animals cant stand up for themselves and tell their story.  Also, evidence gathered is only circumstantial and it can be difficult to convince a jury of an animals rights.  This is why we need to use our voice and speak up when we see and animal being harmed or neglected.
Animals need our help.  We need to provide them with the voice that they don't have, and help end animal cruelty.  If you see an animal being harmed, you must report it.  We must be kind to all animals no matter how big or small.

“The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.”
-Leonardo Da Vinci

  2. Hmm...video? All I can see is a 'white square'. This is really good information, I agree that animals need a voice :-) However, this needs to tie to 'personal wellness', and I'm not sure that I see this as a 'health topic'. Would like to see a bigger push to do something. What is it that you want your readers to do after reading your blog? Only 2 resources are used (Humane Society - 2x's) 16/20
